The Youngstown Steel had a back and forth game, but ultimately fell short.

After 4 different lead changes, with one 3 yard run by Dylan Hecker and a 58 yard run by Lamar Jordan, Baton Rouge finally took control and scored 17 straight points.

Youngstown brought the game back within 7 points thanks to a field goal by Daniel Martinez with 13:17 left in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, the Blazzing Mudbugs sealed the deal with a field goal of their own with less than 6 minutes left.

Overall, this was not the best offensive game of the season as the only highlights were Hecker and Jordan’s touchdown runs. Kevin Rader led the team in receiving yards with 75.

Jason Neill finished with another sack on the season. Andy Smigiera and Weston Steelhammer led the team in tackles with 9 each, while Heath Harding added an interception to his resume.

On Special Teams, Ryan Anderson, had a 56 yard punt and pinned the Railers inside the 20 on 3 different occasions.

The Youngstown Steel are taking a road trip in week 8 as they head to Chattanooga to face the Railers.
