The Youngstown Steel win their first ever playoff game as they defeated the Tallahassee Warriors 33-9 in a dominant performance.
Youngstown went off in the 1st half using everyone in their backfield rotation to score a touchdown. Johnny Stanton struck first with a 6 yard run followed by Terry Swanson and Dylan Hecker, each with 1 yard runs a piece. .
Christian Hackenberg threw the lone touchdown in the 2nd half, an 11 yard rope to former Merrimack superstar Dillon Salva. Daniel Martinez hit two field goals in the 4th quarter to bring the score to 33.
This win officially goes down in history as one the city of Youngstown will never forget.
Chris Schleuger was a blocking machine, leading the offense to another no sack game. Hecker led the ground attack with 109 yards while Nelson Spruce led the arial attack with 50. Hackenberg connected with 7 different targets in the contest.
The Defense punished the warriors only allowing 3 field goals in the game for scores. Jamar Summers led the team in tackles with 7 and added an interception. Jason Neill once again led the team in sacks with 1.
The Youngstown Steel travel up to Fargo to face the Ice Scrapers in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
