The Youngstown Steel lose their second straight game and dip back down under .500 after they suffered defeat to Halifax in their home opener.

Nick Rose of the Tritons stole the show by booting 4 field goals through the uprights in a two point win, his last and final points of the game coming with 8:09 left in the 4th quarter making the score 19-17.

There were 5 lead changes in the game as the Steel kept coming back from originally being down 10-0 in the 1st quarter. Lamar Jordan and Johnny Stanton led the charge by running two touchdowns in from 60 and 4 yards respectively. Daniel Martinez took the last shot at the win with a 46 yard field goal to go up 17-16 early in the 4th quarter.

Unfortunately this was not enough as the offense could not get anything going in the final 8 minutes of the ballgame.

The offense was very dismal, not even reaching 200 yards total. The only real highlight of the day came on the Lamar Jordan 60 yard run.

The Defense was stout, only allowing one touchdown in the game. The middle of the defense led by Brett Taylor and Frederic Chagnon racked up 23 total tackles to lead the team.

The Youngstown Steel play at home again for Week 4 as they face the Hartford Centurions at Stambaugh Field.
