The Houston Wranglers have become a favorite trade partner of the Utah Raptors and they struck another deal as the team sent a 2019 fifth round pick to Houston for former fourth round draft pick Hardy Nickerson, Jr.
Nickerson didn’t play as a rookie for the Wranglers, but could battle Blair Brown for a backup role in Utah. In college, Nickerson totaled 351 tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss and four sacks with three interceptions and four fumble recoveries.
“I know Hardy’s dad very well. He was a tough competitor and you see a lot of his dad in his son,” Head Coach Ken Norton Jr. said. “The younger Hardy is a tough athlete who has a great knowledge of the game. He gets around the field well and is really strong. He’s a guy you want on your team.”
